Lotus Academic College is running both the degree and
non-degree courses. Under the degree courses,
it has been running the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) course from
current fiscal year.
It
is
a 10-month long
breach course
for
the students who have not studied Buddhist studies in B.A. and
intend to join the M.A. course
on Buddhist Studies. For
the year 2007
Lotus Academy will be rolling in for a 10-month
Post Graduate Diploma Course. The total credit for the course
will be 500 marks which is divided into five subject:

History
of Buddhism and Buddhist Literature
-
Buddhist Religion and
Philosophy
-
Buddhist Art,
Architecture, Iconography & Script
-
Buddhist culture and
traditions in Nepal
-
Essay
LAC and Lotus Research Centre may also
organize non-degree courses on demand. The general typology of
such teachings will be as follows:
i)
Package Programme: It will include short-term programmes
according to themes not exceeding 60 hours each.
ii)
Class observation: Students applying to join either Post
Graduate Diploma or M.A. classes for reading purposes will be
allowed to
participate in the
classes according to the routines.
iii)
Observation Classes: It covers field surveys and practical
classes relevant to the themes of the course designed for the
purport.
iv)
Talk Programs: At least 15 talk Programs on relevant topics will
be arranged both for the regular students and the interested
common mass or the scholars from home and abroad.
v)
Seminar: 4 one-day seminars will be held and two papers on
different themes will be discussed.
